Molybdenum Oxide

After Molybdenite is mined, it is converted into Molybdenum Oxide through a roasting process.  The oxide is made available in either a powder form or in briquettes.  The typical content of Molybdenum in the Oxide is 51% for Chinese grades, 57% for Chinese and South American grades, and above 60% for material produced in the USA.  In addition to its use in the production of Ferro Molybdenum and Molybdenum Metal, the Oxide is also used as an additive in the production of fertilizer and animal feed.
